Kyrgyzstan has joined the Agreement on the Adoption of Harmonized UN Technical Regulations for Wheeled Vehicles, Equipment and Parts. The corresponding law was signed by the President Sadyr Japarov.
The document was adopted by the Parliament on June 29, 2023. The agreement provides a legal opportunity for member countries to obtain a vehicle type approval (VTA) based on factory tests. Domestic manufacturers can obtain VTA by submitting factory test reports and declarations to them to the certification body and testing laboratories.
When Kyrgyzstan joins the agreement, the procedure for obtaining VTA will become cheaper and faster.
The law enters into force ten days after its official publication.
