Construction of new airport planned in Jalal-Abad

It is planned to build a new airport in Jalal-Abad. Press service of Manas International Airport OJSC reported.

Manasbek Samidinov, the Chairman of the Board of Manas International Airport OJSC, got acquainted with the reconstruction of Jalal-Abad airport. Repair and restoration of the asphalt concrete pavement of the runway continues there.

According to the project, the taxiway and the parking lot of the airfield will also be repaired. Regular flights on the route Bishkek — Jalal-Abad — Bishkek are operated there by the domestic Tez Jet airline.

At the initiative of President Sadyr Japarov, issue of allocation of a land plot is considered in the specified area for the construction of a new airport, where a specialized design institute is conducting research.

The reason is an increase in demand for air travel from the population of Jalal-Abad region. At least nine flights a week are operated to date.
