The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan has begun holding meetings on stepping up work to inform the public about the work being done and preventing corrupt elements in the health care system. Press center of the ministry reported.
The main goal of the meetings is to create a solid foundation for increasing transparency in healthcare work and increasing public confidence in the system. «Effective communication with the public is critical to achieving this goal, as the proper informing allows communication between healthcare organizations and the community,» the ministry noted.
In particular, the heads of healthcare organizations in Osh and Batken regions agreed on the need to develop a comprehensive strategy for informing the public, which will include the use of various media platforms, social media and other means to transparently disseminate information about the work of organizations, medical services, initiatives and achievements.
«One of the key aspects of prevention of corruption is the training of medical personnel in ethical principles and standards of conduct. Plans have been outlined to conduct regular training programs that will maintain high professionalism and integrity among doctors and medical staff,» the Ministry of Health said.
The meeting participants also stressed the importance of combating corruption in healthcare, noting the need for additional measures to prevent and suppress any corrupt elements among medical workers. «This includes developing and implementing effective mechanisms for reporting corruption and protecting people who report it,» the ministry added.
To ensure the effectiveness of all the measures taken, it was proposed to create a monitoring and evaluation system. This will allow monitoring progress in the implementation of the public awareness and anti-corruption strategy, as well as responding to challenges and problems.
