Nikolai Patrushev accuses West of aggravating situation in Central Asia

The U.S. and the UK want to exacerbate the situation in the countries of Central Asia as a matter of priority. Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, stated at the first meeting of the Secretaries of Security Councils in «Central Asia and Russia» format in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

«Central Asia has become a priority object of their information impact to establish control over the population. The manipulation of public opinion by Washington and London is aimed at aggravating the domestic political situation, putting pressure on the authorities and forming a stratum of the population that shares values that are alien to the centuries-old traditions of the Central Asian peoples,» he said.

According to Nikolai Patrushev, Russia regularly shares with the countries of Central Asia information about the destructive impact of the Anglo-Saxons in this area.

«We regularly and frankly share information about the Anglo-Saxons’ growing destructive impact and threats to state sovereignty with all our partners,» he said.

Participants of the meeting discussed the security of Central Asia and the Russian Federation in modern conditions.
