«We share democratic values, fundamental freedoms and human rights, which are also highly valued in Germany,» President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said after talks with the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan stands for maintaining active cooperation with Germany, which is one of the leading states not only in Europe, but also in the world, because Germany, thanks to its political authority and economic potential, is an example for many countries of the world, including the Kyrgyz Republic.
«Further support of Germany in the democratic development of the republic, building a strong civil society and the rule of law is very important for us. Reforms in the country are being carried out in almost all spheres of society, primarily in the economic, political and social sectors. It is my understanding that all problems of a citizen should be resolved in a timely manner by state bodies,» Sadyr Japarov said.
He drew attention to the fact that work has been underway to increase the transparency and accountability of state authorities, improve the quality of public services provided. A full-scale fight against corruption is being carried out, due to which important areas of state activity remain underfunded.
Regarding the economic sector, the president told that the Kyrgyz side has been paying great attention to major infrastructure projects, road construction, and modernization of irrigation systems.
«Construction of an alternative North — South highway continues. A major project in the field of railway transport is planned with the participation of neighboring states. This is the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway. Implementation of the project will have an overall positive social and economic effect for the countries of the region. Another large-scale infrastructure project was launched in June last year — construction of Kambar-Ata-1 hydroelectric power station, the largest in the region. Its main goal is to ensure the energy security of the Kyrgyz Republic and the region as a whole. Moreover, the project provides for the participation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Therefore, it is a priority for us,» he stressed.
