Employees of NABU-Kyrgyzstan recorded a rare and endangered bird species — black vulture (Aegypius monachus), included in the Endangered Species List of the Kyrgyz Republic. The organization reported on Facebook.
«In early June, specialists from the monitoring department of NABU-Kyrgyzstan carried out important work to study wildlife in Chui region, Kemin district, Suuluu-Terek tract. As a result of visual observation, nine species of birds were recorded, among which one species — the black vulture (Aegypius monachus) — is included in the Endangered Species List of the Kyrgyz Republic.
It is noted that the staff of the monitoring department will continue their work and will monitor the state of wildlife in the area. Such research helps to preserve the richness and diversity of the animal world of Kyrgyzstan, as well as to identify problems and threats that may affect the ecological situation in the region.
