The first deliveries of electricity from Russia to Kyrgyzstan began in April. Data of the Kyrgyz Energy Settlement Center say.
It is noted that 67.8 million kilowatt-hours were received in transit through Kazakhstan. In addition, the republic received 90.8 million kilowatt-hours from Kazakhstan and 269 million kilowatt-hours from Turkmenistan.
In total, in April 2023, the republic imported 427.6 million kilowatt-hours. The total volume of electricity supplied to the grid amounted to 1.2 billion kilowatt-hours. This means that Kyrgyzstan bought a third of all electricity from other countries.
The cost of purchased electricity is not voiced by the authorities. They call it a trade secret.
