Two residents of Suzak district, suspected of killing a lieutenant colonel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs during the June 2010 events, were detained. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.
It was found out that in June 2010 they took an active part in the riots on the territory of Jalal-Abad region, and were also involved in the murder with particular cruelty committed in Suzak village. However, at that time, they were not identified during the investigation.
The detainees were placed in a pre-trial detention center as part of the resumed criminal case.
A complex of active search measures is being carried out to establish and bring to justice the organizers and active participants of the June 2010 events, which led to numerous casualties.
The State Committee for National Security reminded that the statute of limitations is not applied to persons who committed especially grave crimes in June 2010.
