President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov made a speech at the first Central Asia — China summit. Press service of the head of state reported.
Sadyr Japarov stressed the symbolism of holding the summit in the ancient Xi’an. It is in this ancient city that the Great Silk Road originates.
«This year marks ten years since the President Xi Jinping launched the Belt and Road Initiative, which has gained global scope and dimension. It is especially relevant and in demand today. I am convinced that today’s summit will give new momentum to the deepening and expansion of traditionally friendly relations between our countries and China,» he said.
The President noted that the agenda of the summit reflects common goals and the desire for multifaceted cooperation for the benefit of common development. «The Kyrgyz side is ready for active work in all areas of cooperation within the framework of Central Asia — China format. The People’s Republic of China prepared and agreed «Xi’an Declaration». It is intended to become an important conceptual document that defines the main ways of interaction,» he added.
Sadyr Japarov noted that the list of agreements and initiatives following the results of the summit provides for specific decisions and intentions in priority areas of cooperation.
More than ten mechanisms and platforms for collaboration are being created, which indicates the great potential and demand for the format.
«I am sure that these documents meet the interests of our states and the common interests of long-term joint development. The idea of establishing a special body, the secretariat, which could coordinate the overall work, arouses interest. I believe that the Foreign Ministries of our countries will offer us a mutually acceptable and effective working mechanism,» the head of state said.
