The volume of remittances from Russia to Kyrgyzstan reached $2.7 billion. The Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced the figure at a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Shakiev in Moscow.
«This is 26.5 percent of the republic’s annual GDP,» he said.
According to Vyacheslav Volodin, Russian investments account for 36 percent of all direct investments in the republic’s economy, and the share of the ruble in mutual settlements reached almost 70 percent.
The State Duma Speaker added that in 2022 the bilateral trade between Moscow and Bishkek grew by 37 percent to almost $3.5 billion.
The State Duma Chairman also noted that he considered the contribution of parliament members to the development of cooperation between the parties insufficient and called to intensify efforts in this direction.
In his turn, Nurlanbek Shakiev said that Russia and Kyrgyzstan «have a full understanding that allows developing fruitful cooperation».
