Kyrgyzstan adopts business support program for next three years

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan adopted a Business Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2026. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce reported.

The program provides for transition to a business service model, which provides for a reduction in tax audits, digitalization of the customs infrastructure, deregulation and debureaucratization of state regulation of business. It also ensures the protection of intellectual property rights to promote technology development and healthy competition.

The financial and banking systems will be brought into line with the requirements of the ESG to expand opportunities for access to the development of sustainable finance in Kyrgyzstan. Financing and implementation of projects according to ESG standards in the fields of construction, transport, energy and the financial sector will be increased 1.5 times.

It is planned to develop 10 feasibility studies and business plans in order to attract financing based on the principles of sustainability and cyclicality for sponsorship by international funds, including in the context of negotiations on writing off external debt in exchange for environmental projects.

The program provides for improvement of the rating of Kyrgyzstan in the list of the best countries for women entrepreneurs by 2026, as well as an increase in the number of self-employed in the regions.

«It is expected that at least 1,000 women will be involved in preschool education this year. Measures are also planned for 2023 to create border trade centers in areas with China and Uzbekistan. The program outlines initiatives that will be open for cooperation and development of projects together with international partners,» the Ministry of Economy said.
