Russia plans to start construction of nine general education schools in Kyrgyzstan this year. Igor Maslov, Chief of the Presidential Directorate for Interregional Relations and Cultural Contacts with Foreign Countries of Russia, announced this at the ceremony of handing over fire engines in Bishkek.
«On March 29, a delegation from Russia headed by the Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk will arrive in Kyrgyzstan to sign an intergovernmental agreement. This is an important program. Each school will be designed for 1,200 students and will meet all modern standards — from a complete set of necessary equipment to a powerful sports base, which includes two swimming pools and a football field in each of them. Construction will begin this year. The amount for the project, about $500 million, has already been included in the Russian budget,» he said.
Earlier, the Committee of the Parliament on International Affairs, Defense and Security supported the agreement with the Russian Federation on the construction of schools. Educational institutions will be built in Ak-Ordo residential area of Bishkek, in the South-East microdistrict of the city of Osh, in the village of Novopavlovka, in the city of Karakol, on the territory of Jala-Abad State University, in Progress village, Uzgen district, in Aigul-Tash area in Batken region, in Bala-Saruu village in Talas region, in the area of Japaraliev park in Naryn city.
The curriculum will be compiled according to Russian and domestic standards, it will include: the Kyrgyz language, literature, the history of Kyrgyzstan, pre-military training and others. Graduates will receive certificates of two countries.
