Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Aibek Moldogaziev met with the Chief Adviser to the President of Italy on Foreign Policy Fabio Cassese and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Edmondo Cirielli. Press service of the Foreign Ministry reported.
The meetings were held within the framework of the seventh high-level conference «European Union — Central Asia» in Rome. The parties exchanged views on the situation in the world, and discussed key issues on the global and regional agenda.
During the meetings, a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-Italian bilateral and multilateral cooperation was discussed. Particular attention was paid to the discussion of the state and prospects for the further development of political, trade, economic, investment, scientific and cultural interaction between the two countries. The mutual intention to expand the political dialogue by organizing mutual visits at high and highest levels in 2023-2024 was confirmed.
«As a result of the meetings, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit of the leadership of the Italian Foreign Ministry to Kyrgyzstan in the spring of 2023 and holding political consultations in Bishkek. The parties noted that the successful holding of political consultations would be an important part of the preparatory work for organizing mutual visits at the highest level,» the statement says.
