Akylbek Japarov instructs to expedite payment of compensation in Batken region

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov held a meeting of the State Commission for the restoration and development of administrative-territorial units damaged and destroyed as a result of the armed conflict in Batken and Osh regions. Press service of the Cabinet reported.

«I would like to focus the attention of the meeting participants on the issue of compensation to entrepreneurs who suffered during the last year’s conflict. In fact, not only businessmen, but also ordinary people are wondering where and how they can earn a living. This is a very relevant question. Furniture was burned, livestock was lost or stolen. It is necessary to complete the work on clarifying the lists of affected people in a short time, develop the very provision on the procedure for compensation for damage and start paying compensation in a short time,» the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers said.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to write off a loan of 9 million soms to the owner of the poultry farm, who died during those events. His son, who decided to restore the poultry farm, was given a new soft loan of 30 million soms for the purchase of new equipment.

In addition, Akylbek Japarov instructed government agencies to make proposals for holding the Kyrgyz-Chinese and Kyrgyz-Uzbek Business Forums in Batken region.

He believes that this particular region should become the epicenter of the dynamic development of the economy and the inflow of investments.

«Batken region has twice suffered from border conflicts for two years. Despite this, we were able to restore the destroyed. There must be peace. President Sadyr Japarov intends to continue to provide comprehensive support to Batken region. We must make every effort for the prosperity and development of the region,» said Akylbek Japarov.

The head of the Cabinet noted that the situation in Batken region is not simple now. For the proper recovery of the region, it is necessary to have no budget deficit. Therefore, work will continue on the active introduction of cash registers.

All social facilities are planned to be commissioned by September 2023 after the construction of houses is completed. In total, the state allocated 1,360 billion soms for the construction of residential buildings and social facilities.
