According to him, «Western politicians don’t care a dime who to rely on in the fight against the Russian Federation, as long as they fulfill their will. The «anti-Russia» project is part of the revanchist policy of the West. There is only one idea — to spark a war in Europe by someone else’s hands.
«We are not at war with the people of Ukraine, they themselves became hostages of the Kyiv regime. The current Ukrainian regime serves not national interests, but third countries. The West is using Ukraine as a battering ram against Russia and as a training ground. One circumstance should be clear to everyone: the more long-range Western systems will come to Ukraine, the further we will be forced to move the threat away from our borders. This is natural,» Vladimir Putin said.
He also noted that the Russian Federation would respond appropriately to plans to turn the local conflict in Ukraine into a global confrontation.
«The elites of the West do not hide their goal: to inflict, as they say, it is a direct speech, a strategic defeat on the Russian Federation. What does it mean? For us, what is it? This means to get it over and done with us, that is, they intend to transform the local conflict into a phase of global confrontation. This is how we understand all this and will react accordingly,» the President of the Russian Federation added.
