The international non-governmental organization Reporters Without Borders has expressed concern about another attempt by the authorities to intimidate journalists in Kyrgyzstan. The organization announced on Twitter.
The Director General of 24.kg news agency Asel Otorbaeva was summoned for interrogation by the State Committee for National Security without explanation. Reporters Without Borders called law enforcement agencies for more transparency.
The Director General of 24.kg news agency was interrogated by the State Committee for National Security on Monday. According to her, the investigators were not interested in the information itself, but in the comments to it, which appeared on one of the social media.
Recall, an attempt to block 24.kg news agency’s website under the Law of Gulshat Asylbaeva «On inaccurate (false) information» was made in August 2022.
