«In the conditions of the modern world order, it is important to make efforts to integrate the transport and logistics infrastructure of Central Asian countries into global transport hubs and corridors,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said during a meeting with the head of Uzbekistan in an expanded format.
According to him, the Kyrgyz Republic is working to improve highways of international importance.
The issues of reconstruction of railways within the country and their connection to transcontinental highways are on the agenda. In this context, plans for the joint construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway are relevant.
«Creation of new transport and communication corridors connecting the states of the region will expand the possibilities of our republics in terms of connecting regional trade networks with sea routes to world trade markets,» said Sadyr Japarov.
He also drew attention to the fact that cross-border tourism was gaining popularity in the region.
According to the head of state, this is the best way to provide foreign tourists with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the authentic lifestyle, experience the culture, national customs and traditions of the population of the countries.
«For this, I propose to create joint tourism products in the field of recreation (Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad), as well as the development of winter (Chunkurchak, Karakol) and spiritual tourism (Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva). The Kyrgyz side considers it important to develop cooperation in the field of organizing joint expeditions to explore the prospects for new tourist routes, implementation of such joint initiatives as a single visa, creation of joint tourism products along the modern Great Silk Road, geoparks,» he proposed.
Sadyr Japarov also noted the active dynamics in the cultural and humanitarian sphere of partnership. This year it is planned to hold the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, which will make a significant contribution to strengthening humanitarian ties between the states. In the near future, the overhaul of the Osh State Uzbek Music and Drama Theater named after Babur will be completed on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.
