The incidence of ARVI and influenza decreased for a week in Kyrgyzstan. The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance reported.
According to operational data, 32,636 cases of acute respiratory viral infections and 120 cases of influenza were registered in the republic from December 19 to December 25. At least 64.3 percent of all cases were in children under 14 (21,071 cases). Compared to the previous week, there is a decrease in the incidence by 17.2 percent.
The department reminded that it is necessary to follow simple rules for the prevention of respiratory infections, such as ARVI, influenza, coronavirus infection:
- Wear a face mask and observe social distancing;
- Observe respiratory hygiene — cover the mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with tissues with their subsequent, proper removal;
- Timely self-isolate people who feel unwell, with high fever and other flu-like symptoms;
- Comply with sanitary and hygienic measures (hand hygiene, regular ventilation of premises, wet cleaning, etc.);
- During the period of the rise in the incidence, try not to attend mass events, especially indoors, crowded places, use disposable medical masks to protect the respiratory organs (use of one mask should not exceed 6 hours, re-use of the mask is unacceptable), stay in the fresh air more often.
