Marufkhan Tulaev, First Deputy Presidential Envoy to Batken region, and Almazbek Rakhmankulov, head of Leilek district, met with residents of border villages who had fled during the military aggression of Tajikistan. The affected residents of Batken region told 24.kg news agency.
Ombudsman Atyr Abdrakhmatova, deputies of the Parliament Chyngyz Azhibaev, Mirgul Temirbayeva and Minister of Health Gulnara Batyrova also participated in the meeting.
Batken residents told the officials and the main human rights activist about their problems related to the payment of social benefits, medical care, accommodation and food.
Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 206 victims, 63 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case on crimes against peace.
