Kyrgyzstan signs agreements with two Arab companies

Cooperation agreements have been signed with Arab companies AD Ports Group and Maqta Gateway. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce signed a document with AD Ports Group, under which the Emirati company allocated more than 300,000 square meters in KEZAD (Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi) free economic zone. It is located in close proximity to the most modern port in the region — Khalifa Port of Abu Dhabi. The agreement was signed for the development and operation of the logistics center and the customs zone.

In accordance with the second agreement, Maqta Gateway will create a strategy for the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan to modernize and digitalize customs and border control, infrastructure, including through the creation of a national single window.

Maqta Gatewa is the developer and operator of an advanced trading platform, an innovative one-stop-shop designed to connect trade and logistics services across Abu Dhabi, including maritime, land, air, industrial and free zones.

«Today is a historic day. Kyrgyzstan, which is one of the most remote states from the World Ocean, gets access to the sea. This is a big leap forward. The signed agreements will not only give a powerful impetus to the development of bilateral Kyrgyz-Emirati relations, but will also help our country make a powerful economic breakthrough,» the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said.

The decision to sign the agreements was made during the President’s working visit to the United Arab Emirates following negotiations with the top leadership of the UAE.

«We consider Central Asia as a strategically important direction for the development of AD Ports Group. We thank the government of Kyrgyzstan for the trust, and look forward to fruitful cooperation on digitalization, improving the development of international relations,» said Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and CEO of AD Ports Group.
