President signs decree on renaming 10 villages in Batken region

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed the law on renaming some rural areas and villages in Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic. Press service of the head of state reported.

The law was adopted by the Parliament on October 20, 2022. According to the document, three rural areas and 10 villages in Batken region are renamed.

It is clarified that it is necessary to return the areas and villages their historical names «within the framework of protecting national interests.»

«The law is aimed at strengthening the national ideology and further improving the spiritual and moral education of citizens in the spirit of patriotism and on the basis of national, historical traditions and values. Decisions on renaming rural areas and villages were made at meetings of residents of these villages, approved by decisions of rural councils, district state administrations, the Presidential Envoy to Batken region and the Parliament,» the background statement to the law says.

The following rural areas and villages have been renamed:

Markaz rural area in Kadamdzhai district of Batken region into Airybaz rural area:

  • Markaz village in Markaz rural area into Airybaz village of Airybaz rural area;
  • Valakish village in Uch-Korgon rural area, Kadamdzhai district, Batken region of the Kyrgyz Republic into Tegirmech village of Uch-Korgon rural area;
  • Khalmion rural area into Iskhak-Polotkhan rural area;
  • Noogardan village in Khalmion rural area into Ak-Orgo village in Iskhak-Polotkhan rural area;
  • Khalmion village of Khalmion rural area into Zhenish village of Iskhak-Polotkhan rural area.

Margun rural area in Leilek district, Batken region into Ken-Talaa rural area:

  • Dargaz village in Margun rural area into Kerege-Tash village in Ken-Talaa rural area;
  • Darkhum village in Margun rural area into Jeti-Tash village in Ken-Talaa rural area;
  • Margun village in Margun rural area into Muras village in Ken-Talaa rural area;
  • Churbek village in Margun rural area into Uch-Bulak village, Ken-Talaa rural area;
  • Murza-Patcha village of Razzakov town into Ak-Bosogo vellage of Razzakov town;
  • Kommuna village in Sumbula rural area into Sary-Dobo village in Sumbula rural area.

The law will come into force on January 1, 2023.
