More than 155,000 tons of meat produced in Kyrgyzstan in 2022

Kyrgyzstan has produced 155,900 tons of meat in live weight since the beginning of the year, which is 4,100 tons more than last year. Press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reported.

"The increase in meat production is due to the growth in the number of farm animals. As of the end of 2021, the number of cattle increased by 34,600 and amounted to 1,750,400 heads. The number of horses increased by 7,600 and reached 547,200 heads. The number of sheep and goats decreased by 632 and amounted to 6,278,100 heads. The number of poultry decreased by 145,700 and reached 5,924,700 heads.

All regions of the republic, except Batken, produced more meat than last year. The main reason for the decrease in meat production in Batken was a reduction in the number of cows, horses, sheep and goats.
