U.S. ready to sign new cooperation agreement with Kyrgyzstan

Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov held talks with a U.S. delegation led by the Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights Uzra Zeya. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

The state and prospects for development of bilateral cooperation between the states were discussed. Edil Baisalov told about measures taken by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov to improve the welfare of citizens, the domestic political situation, and progress in the field of human rights.

In turn, Uzra Zeya noted the desire of the United States to strengthen relations with the Kyrgyz Republic.

She announced her readiness to sign a new cooperation agreement, thereby opening a new chapter in relations between the states on issues of democratic rights.

Edil Baisalov emphasized country’s commitment to international obligations, fundamental human rights and freedoms, the rule of law, and also noted the readiness of the republic’s leadership to step up cooperation with the United States.
