Naryn Production Enterprise Limited Liability Company has been granted the right to implement the project «Construction and operation of Kulanak HPP with installed capacity of 100 megawatts». The relevant decision was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov.
Reservoir and dam of the hydropower plant will be located on Naryn river in Naryn district. The company will build the station at its own expense. Construction of Kulanak HPP, according to the design-estimate documentation, will take four years. The height of the dam will be 27 meters.
The project was developed by Lengidroproekt JSC — the oldest Russian design and survey institute in the field of designing hydropower and water facilities and providing a full range of services for the design and field supervision of the construction of hydraulic structures in areas with particularly difficult geological and climatic conditions.
«Up to 30 hydropower plants with a total installed capacity of up to 6.2 gigawatts can be built on Naryn river,» the Cabinet of Ministers stressed.
