Most foreign students at higher educational institutions of Kyrgyzstan are citizens of Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Education and Science reported.
According to its data, in total, there are 231,394 students, almost a third of them (70,524) are citizens of other countries. Most foreign students (63 percent) came from neighboring countries.
«For example, the largest number of students at Kyrgyz universities are from Uzbekistan — 38,857, India — 14,461, and Pakistan — 9,758. Most students from near-abroad countries study at state higher educational institutions, while those from far abroad study at private ones,» the ministry said.
