Protest at Russian Embassy: Participants taken to police department

Protest was held near the Russian Embassy in Bishkek today. Two people came to the building of the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation — the head of Kylym Shamy Human Rights Center Aziza Abdirasulova and a civil activist Ondurush Toktonasyrov. Several more people joined them later.

At first, the police did not interfere with the protest, but later law enforcement officers asked the participants to leave. However, the protesters demanded an official warning.

Police officers had to ask the protesters to go to the Pervomaisky District Department of Internal Affairs for a preventive conversation. They will be released later.

Earlier it was reported that the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek banned any rallies near the Russian Embassy. The temporary ban was imposed on March 11 and will last until April 11.

Situation in Ukraine remains complicated. Fighting continues. Russia started a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many states have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions on Russia.
