Uzbekistan is negotiating resumption of transit bus transportation to Russia and Kyrgyzstan through Kazakhstan. Uzbek media report with reference to the Ministry of Transport of the republic.
In addition, it became known that the Republic of Uzbekistan resumes bus service to the Republic of Kazakhstan from March 16, which was suspended two years ago due to the coronavirus pandemic.
From this date, buses will transport passengers on the following routes:
- Tashkent — Almaty;
- Tashkent — Irgeli (suburb of Almaty);
- Tashkent — Kyzylorda;
- Tashkent — Nur-Sultan;
- Tashkent — Turkestan;
- Tashkent — Shymkent;
- Chirchik — Almaty;
- Chirchik — Shymkent.
International bus service between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan was suspended on March 16, 2020 at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Later, the land border was opened several times, but the bus service was not resumed.
