Most anticipated movies of 2022 will not be screened in Kyrgyzstan. Almaz Kaiypov, a representative of Cinematica network told.
According to him, this is due to the fact that films for distribution in domestic cinemas are bought from Russia. Residents of Kyrgyzstan will not be able to watch many world premieres, including the animated films «Turning Red» by Walt Disney Pictures and «Morbius» by Marvel and Columbia Pictures.
Almaz Kaiypov also noted that the studios do not say anything specific.
Earlier it was reported that Warner Bros. canceled the distribution of «Batman» starring Robert Pattinson in Russia a day before its premiere. The Walt Disney Company said that it was «pausing» the release of films in Russia amid Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.
The hostilities in Ukraine are ongoing. Russia started a special military operation on February 24, 2022. The number of military and civilian casualties continues to grow. Many countries have imposed and continue to impose severe sanctions against Russia.
