Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan and Russian Mufti discuss wide range of issues

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev visited the Moscow Cathedral Mosque where he met with Rawil Gaynetdin, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Russia, head of the Mufti Council of Russia. Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that the Mufti of Russia is not only a leader of the Muslims of the country, but also enjoys sincere and deserved respect of all Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.

The parties discussed issues relating to state policy in the religious sphere, including the possibility of solving current problems of spiritual development of modern society, especially the younger generation. It was noted that the state policy in the religious sphere should undoubtedly respond to contemporary challenges to national and regional security.

It has been mutually agreed that the diversity of the national composition and religious affiliation of the population, the historical experience of intercultural and inter-religious interaction and traditions is the common heritage of the Kyrgyz and Russian nations. All of this predetermines a shared responsibility for peace, harmony and well-being in society.

In the context of the events in Ukraine, the Mufti of Russia noted that the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Russian Federation called on all believers to pray in their mosques for peace and for the repose of the souls of innocent civilians who have been killed.

Ruslan Kazakbaev and Rawil Gaynetdin, noting the devastating consequences of wars and numerous casualties, performed dua (a personal prayer of a Muslim believer) for peace and harmony, creation, unity and prosperity.
