The first phase of road construction at the expense of a grant from China has been officially completed in Bishkek. Press service of the capital’s City Hall reported.
Ceremony of signing the acceptance certificate on the project «Development of Bishkek Street Road Network» (first phase) took place at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan. The document was signed by the Chinese side and the Bishkek City Hall.
Mayor of Bishkek Emilbek Abdykadyrov thanked the government and the Embassy of China for their invaluable contribution to the development of the city and also expressed hope for further mutually beneficial cooperation.
In turn, Chinese Ambassador Du Dewen congratulated the participants of the ceremony and all Bishkek residents on the successful completion of another mission and noted the importance of strengthening and achieving fruitful results of friendly interaction.
The City Hall recalled that the first phase of road construction at the expense of China began in September 2016. A total of 49 streets with a length of 95 kilometers were put in order, 180 kilometers of sidewalks were built, irrigation networks were updated, six bridges and one overpass were built. At the end of February, implementation of the second phase of the project was resumed after a winter break, preparatory work is underway on 24 street sections.
