As of March 1, 2022, the volume of water in Toktogul reservoir reached 8,155.6 billion cubic meters. Website of Electric Stations JSC says.
Compared to last year, the water level decreased by 4,319.8 billion cubic meters, or 35 percent. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of water in Toktogul reservoir has decreased by 1,955.8 billion cubic meters.
The inflow of water to date is 155 cubic meters per second, and the flow rate is 448 cubic meters.
This year, Kyrgyzstan faced an energy crisis due to a low water period. Power industry specialists fear that only 6-7 billion cubic meters of water could remain in the reservoir after the heating season. Some experts believe that this could lead to the shutdown of Toktogul HPP.
