Situation in Ukraine: Japan to impose sanctions on Vladimir Putin

Japan will impose sanctions on the Russian President Vladimir Putin. RBK reports with reference to the Japanese news agency Kyodo.

According to it, Japan will include Vladimir Putin and other government officials in the sanctions list for conducting a military special operation in Ukraine, Kyodo media outlet reports with reference to the Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

Tokyo will also support the disconnection of Russian banks from SWIFT.

The United States and its allies are planning to take such measures against the Central Bank of the Russian Federation that will not allow it to use the reserves at its disposal to support the ruble in order to compensate for the sanctions.

Today is the fourth day of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. It started on February 24, 2022. On February 25, fighting took place in the north, south and east of the country. Some cities are either blocked or captured. The number of casualties among the military and civilians continues to grow. Western states impose tough sanctions against the Russian Federation, but they refused to fight in Ukraine.

On February 26, the Spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that the military operation would continue after Ukraine refused to negotiate.
