Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Kyrgyz Republic Valery Zhovtenko.
The Ambassador informed in detail about the current events in Ukraine.
Minister Kazakbaev expressed hope for a speedy settlement of the conflict, and also stressed the need to search for new formats of negotiations, including on the platforms of international organizations and the UN Security Council in order to de-escalate the current situation and peacefully resolve the conflict exclusively by political and diplomatic methods within the framework of generally recognized principles and norms of international law.
The parties also discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, including taking into account the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.
On the night of February 24, Vladimir Putin officially announced start of a military special operation in Donbas. An extraordinary meeting of Russia’s Security Council was held in Moscow on February 21 to discuss the issue of recognizing the independence of the DPR and LPR. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the decree.
