Volume of water in Toktogul reservoir drops below 8.5 billion cubic meters

The volume of water in Toktogul reservoir to date is 8,339.12 billion cubic meters. Electric Stations JSC provided such data.

Since the beginning of the month, the water volume has decreased by 686.22 million cubic meters. Compared to the same period last year, it is lower by 1,558.24 billion cubic meters.

To date, the inflow of water into Toktogul reservoir is 151 cubic meters per second, and the outflow is 469 cubic meters per second.

This year, Kyrgyzstan faced an energy crisis due to a low water period. Power industry specialists fear that only 6-7 billion cubic meters of water could remain in the reservoir after the heating season. Some experts believe that this could lead to the shutdown of Toktogul HPP.
