Number of crimes committed by migrants is growing again in Russia. Foreign media report, citing the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to its data, problem of crimes committed by migrants has become more acute, causing tension in the society.

«This applies not only to the capital’s region, but also to other cities. Facts of gross violations of public order, mass fights, attacks on law enforcement officers with participation of migrant workers are registered more and more often. There is a tendency of spread of unlawful acts having increased public danger among them, including rapes,» the police added.

The Investigative Committee has organized systematic work to detect and investigate crimes committed by foreigners and stateless persons, as well as in the field of migration.

At least 1,118,000 Kyrgyz citizens work abroad now. This data was announced by the Director of the Center for Employment of Citizens in Foreign Countries under the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration Kubandyk Akmatbekov. The largest number of them is in the Russian Federation — 1,063 million people.

Earlier, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin wrote a letter to President Vladimir Putin and proposed to toughen the migration legislation. He told in the letter about labor migrants from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and «aggressive migrant workers,» who, in his opinion, «inflamed the situation». In addition, the head of the Investigative Committee said that Russian citizens were «seriously concerned» about the fact that the migrants are monopolizing the sphere of consumer services.
