Beds for COVID-19 patients to be placed in Ismankulov’s Clinic

Ismankulov’s Clinic will have beds for patients with COVID-19. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The day before the Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev visited the Clinical Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2 (former Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 6) to get acquainted with the quality of medical care provided to patients with coronavirus infection and the progress of construction of a new building.

«The minister discussed with the management of the hospital the issue of increasing the number of beds for neurological, therapeutic and cardiological patients, since the available beds are catastrophically not enough for the population of Bishkek. The patients are forced to wait for a long time for hospitalization,» the ministry reported.

Alymkadyr Beishenaliev instructed the hospital management to place beds for the treatment of coronavirus patients in the building where the Ismankulov’s Eye Microsurgery Clinic is located and to resume admission of patients in the relevant profiles in the main building of the hospital.

Ismankulov’s Clinic rents the building of the city hospital No. 2 and pays 214,000 soms per month to the City Hall of Bishkek. In 2021 the lease agreement with the clinic was extended for three years, although both the hospital management and the health department have repeatedly raised the issue of return of the building, as the hospital does not have enough places and patients have to wait two months for hospitalization.
