The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan bought 15,000 tons of quality seeds from Russia. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Aziz Aaliev reported at a meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Policy, Water Resources, Ecology and Regional Development of the Parliament.
According to him, 1.5 billion soms were allocated from the republican budget to purchase the seeds.
«At least 15,000 tons of quality seeds are already being transported to the country. Contracts have been signed. They will be delivered in the near future,» Aziz Aaliev said.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Askarbek Dzhanybekov said that agreements with the Russian side on the purchase of 15,000 tons of seed material have been signed with producers and suppliers of alfalfa, sunflower, wheat, barley, pea, safflower and soybeans. The ministry plans to provide domestic farmers with seeds of the first reproduction for the sowing season 2023.
