The influx of migrants to Russia will grow, even despite the restrictions due to the pandemic, so a modern unified system for collecting and recording information about them is needed. RIA Novosti reported, citing the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
«Today we need not just to think, but to decide how to form a unified system for collecting and recording information in this area. The Minister of Internal Affairs says that the system can go down and fail simply because it is not updated, it is old, no money is allocated for it. This affects all categories of citizens — ours and the foreigners,» he said.
All this is due to the low level of information infrastructure in the field of migration.
«Slowly, disregarding the deadlines, the work is underway on a draft strategy for the integrated informatization of state management of migration processes. There is still no single digital platform that would contain information about foreign citizens and migration flows. Such a system is extremely important, especially taking into account the fact that the influx of migrants to Russia, even in spite of restrictions related to the pandemic, will still grow,» Medvedev added.
Earlier it was reported that Russia launched a service to submit notifications of employment contracts with migrants.
