Offenders committed seven attacks on morgues in Almaty (Kazakhstan) and stole 41 bodies from them during the days of riots. Kanat Taimerdenov, head of the city police department, told reporters at a briefing.
He said that the criminals did not leave the dead, they took the wounded with them, they even took the bodies of the dead from the morgues.
According to Kanat Taimerdenov, the «terrorists» seized 1,347 weapons, including 501 rifled, 807 smooth-bore and 39 gas-traumatic weapons.
«Other groups of terrorists seized seven gun shops at the same time, where they took possession of weapons and ammunition. At the moment, 127 weapons, 2,800 cartridges of various calibers, as well as other ammunition and special equipment have been seized during special operations. A large amount of property stolen during looting was also found. The necessary investigative actions are being carried out,» he said.
In addition, the protesters set fire to 51 vehicles, including police and fire trucks, as well as ambulances.
