One of the targets of the National Development Program of Kyrgyzstan until 2026 is the achievement of GDP per capita of at least $1,500. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.
In total, implementation of the national program is aimed at achieving 12 targets. Economic, social and environmental indicators were determined, as well as desired positions in international rankings.
For example, the Cabinet of Ministers wants to achieve an annual economic growth of 5 percent and the same rate in reduction of unemployment. By 2026, according to the government plan, the poverty rate should drop to 20 percent.
To implement these tasks, a plan has been drawn up of 853 activities in priority areas.
Anti-crisis measures, management reform, creation of an environment for development, growth of priority sectors, development of a «green» economy, social development, foreign policy and national security, urban modernization and climate change are envisaged.
«The priority measures are to restore economic activity and support entrepreneurs. For the development of entrepreneurial activity, measures have been laid down to implement public-private partnership (PPP) projects in various fields, to form specialized zones, including production and industrial zones, technology parks, free economic zones, as well as to introduce an electronic licensing system, create an ecosystem for the development of electronic commerce and conditions for supporting and promoting exports.
The Cabinet of Ministers also promises that a state program of concessional lending to business «Capital for Development» will be developed to support entrepreneurship.
To finance nationally significant economic projects, a development bank of Kyrgyzstan will be created, as well as the Uzbek-Kyrgyz and Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Funds have been launched.
«It is planned to launch a number of small and medium-sized businesses and create logistics centers that will provide additional jobs. In addition, measures are envisaged to ensure the economic and food security of the country, modernize land management and state support for the introduction of new lands in agriculture,» the Cabinet of Ministers told.
