A high increase in the incidence of COVID-19 is registered in Kyrgyzstan in the last 12 days, which indicates the beginning of the fourth wave. Press center of the Ministry of Health reported.
Over the past three days, the daily increase in the incidence reached 30 percent, at the same time, it is a mild and asymptomatic form in 60 percent of registered cases.
In the context of regions, a high incidence is observed in Bishkek (89.9 per 100,000 people), in Osh (29.1 per 100,000 people), exceeding the republican rate 4.2 and 1.3 times, respectively.
«The National Virology Reference Laboratory of the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health prepared 165 positive samples detected from December 25, 2021 to January 5, 2022. Samples with a high viral load were taken and sent for sequencing to the reference laboratory of the National Phthisiology Center. According to preliminary results, the Omicron strain was found in two isolates, the samples belong to patients of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital,» the ministry noted.
As of January 12, according to the risk assessment matrix, the Kyrgyz Republic is in the yellow zone and Bishkek is in the red zone.
In this regard, the Ministry of Health considers it necessary to increase the coverage of the population with vaccination, including with a booster dose, to step up anti-epidemic measures in public places (especially in public transport, shopping centers, catering places and so on), as well as introduce and ensure compliance with restrictive measures.
The Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said that the Omicron strain has been registered in Kyrgyzstan.
