State and local authorities of Kyrgyzstan have been instructed to ensure preparedness for a possible worsening of the epidemiological situation related to coronavirus. This decision was made following a meeting of the operational headquarters.
It is reported that the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Edil Baisalov held a regular meeting today. The information of the Ministry of Health on the epidemiological situation in the republic and the course of vaccination of the population was heard. Over the past day, 247 cases of coronavirus infection were registered, most of the cases — in the city of Bishkek and Chui region.
The Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said that 400 reserve beds will be prepared in healthcare organizations in the capital in case of an increase in the incidence.
To date, there are enough medicines and personal protective equipment.
In connection with abolishment of the requirement for mandatory presentation of a negative PCR test result for all persons crossing the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border, express tests for COVID-19 will be conducted at checkpoints.
Following the meeting, the relevant ministries and local authorities were instructed to step up the vaccination campaign and vaccination of the population with a booster dose, as well as to increase the readiness of healthcare organizations for a possible increase in incidence in case of the import and spread of Omicron strain in the country.
