A decision was made to abolish the requirement for mandatory presentation of a negative PCR test result for all citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic and foreigners crossing the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border.
This decision, as the Cabinet of Ministers told 24.kg news agency, was made in the light of the sharp exacerbation of the situation in fraternal Kazakhstan.
In connection with the events in Kazakhstan, citizens of the neighboring state cross the border with the Kyrgyz Republic.
The protests are taking place in cities of Kazakhstan for several days due to an increase in the cost of liquefied gas — its price was increased from 60 to 120 tenge per liter since January 1. Protests, which escalated into clashes with the police and riots, took place in several cities of the republic, including Nur-Sultan and Almaty.
The state of emergency has been introduced throughout Kazakhstan. The government of Kazakhstan has resigned. The Chairman of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan was also replaced, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev became the new chairman instead of Nursultan Nazarbayev. The President of Kazakhstan turned to the CSTO for help; it is already known that Russia and Belarus are ready to send peacekeepers to Kazakhstan.
