A single vaccine against influenza and COVID-19 will be presented in Russia. The head of the state corporation Rostec Sergei Chemezov said that the first results of the development of the single vaccine against influenza and coronavirus will be presented in 2022.
According to him, it is necessary to carry out all the trials for its safety, above all, and effectiveness.
Sergei Chemezov added that scientists are already observing good research results, but «some work is also required» before launching the drug into production and its mass use.
Earlier, the director of Gamaleya Center, Alexander Gintsburg, said that the enterprise had begun preclinical studies of a platform for vaccines that could protect against several different viruses or several variants of the same virus at once. He noted that this is a possible combination of various antigens of influenza viruses and COVID-19.
