At least 135 tons of flour were delivered from Russia for families in need within the framework of the UN WFP. The organization informed 24.kg news agency.
In total, supply of 1,430 tons of wheat flour produced in Russia is planned within a year. It is transported to the organization’s warehouses in Bishkek and Osh. Then the flour is distributed among schools for organizing meals for students and those in need. In total, 40,000 families are covered by the program. Each is provided with 150 kilograms of fortified wheat flour and 15 liters of vegetable oil.
The ceremony was attended by the Russian Ambassador Nikolai Udovichenko, the Minister of Labor, Social Security and Migration Kudaibergen Bazarbaev and the Acting WFP Country Director in the Kyrgyz Republic Michael Huggins.
