Deputy Akylbek Kemelov told about a staff turmoil at Kumtor at a parliamentary session today.
The company refuses to submit a report to Parliament under the pretext of legal proceedings with Centerra Gold Inc., he said.
«The parliament introduced external management at Kumtor. We demanded a report, but they replied that they could not provide information because of the court proceedings. The external manager was handed a blank check. Taking advantage of the situation, he makes arbitrary decisions. Tengiz Bolturuk has begun to fire Kyrgyzstanis and terminate contracts with local contractors. He concludes new contracts with Kazakh and Turkish companies. We must stop him,» Akylbek Kemelov said.
Tengiz Bolturuk is not available for comment. According to some information, he is in London (Great Britain), where the world exhibition Mines and Money is taking place. It brings together investors and mining corporations for communication, education and business.
