Sadyr Japarov invites Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit Kyrgyzstan

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS). The press service of the head of state reported.

The leaders of the countries discussed topical issues of expansion of bilateral cooperation, including deepening the Kyrgyz-Uzbek strategic partnership in trade, economic, energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Sadyr Japarov congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his re-election to the post of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He expressed confidence that under his leadership the country would continue to achieve significant success in its development.

Sadyr Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan is determined to further strengthen and expand all-round cooperation with brotherly Uzbekistan in the interests of both peoples.

The President invited his Uzbek counterpart to pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in turn, noted that Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have great potential in building up bilateral cooperation, including in the trade and economic direction. In his opinion, there is a real opportunity to increase the trade turnover between the two countries to $1 billion. Touching upon the creation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Development Fund, the leader of Uzbekistan expressed interest in building up the activities of the financial organization. He also said that he personally controlled the implementation of the joint agreements at the highest level.

The leaders of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan expressed their readiness to continue a fruitful and active dialogue in all areas of the joint agenda.
