Education Ministry to train teachers to improve state language teaching quality

The Republican Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of Teachers at the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan has launched a large-scale campaign. Press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.

By 2023, graduates of schools with Russian, Tajik and Uzbek languages of instruction ​​should speak Kyrgyz at B1 level. Such a requirement is contained in the State Program for Development of the State Language. In this regard, the campaign was launched to improve the qualifications of teachers of the state language.

«About 870 teachers from all regions of the republic master the basics of communicative teaching methods,» the ministry noted.

The Ministry of Education added: B1 level implies that a student must be able to read, understand, speak, write a short letter and give explanations in the state language.

«In addition, teachers should be able to teach students to listen and understand scientific texts, look for information, and make presentations in the classroom,» the ministry added.
