Sentence of the former Director General of Alfa Telecom CJSC (MegaCom) Azamat Murzaliev was reduced by one year. Lawyer Kanat Khasanov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the judicial board of the Supreme Court reviewed the criminal case against the former manager of the cellular company.
«My petition was granted in the part of embezzlement of entrusted property charges; the episode was reclassified as a less serious crime. However, they reduced the sentence by only one year, although have to reduce it by six years. The judicial board also did not apply the amnesty of 2014,» said Kanat Khasanov.
The former head of Alfa Telecom CJSC, Azamat Murzaliev, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. His adviser Almazbek Abekov was sentenced to 25 years in prison with confiscation of property, and the director of Novostroy Service, Aman uulu Kenzhibek, — to 8 years in prison. He was released on parole.
