Kyrgyz diplomats, as part of a joint delegation of representatives of diplomatic missions from 12 countries, visited the cities of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
From December 28 to December 30, at the invitation of the XUAR government, diplomats from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Pakistan and Thailand visited Urumqi, Kashgar and Hotan.
An employee of the Embassy of the republic in Beijing represented Kyrgyzstan.
The diplomats were got acquainted with the social and economic development of the region, they were shown cultural attractions and educational institutions.
The press release does not contain information about the re-education camps and the situation of ethnic Kyrgyz in the PRC.
Recall, the Committee for Protection of the Kyrgyz in China asked the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov, the Ombudsman and the Foreign Affairs Ministry to help with release of their relatives from the re-education camps in China.
Earlier, the world media published a video from the re-education camps of the PRC. Journalists visited three centers in Urumqi, Kashgar and Hotan.
